So it’s been a while since I last posted. That’s mainly due to school and other time consuming activities, such as homework and a new girlfriend. Since we’ve last chatted, I’ve run my San Jose Rock N Roll 1/2 Marathon, a 10k in Chico, and a 10k Turkey Trot in San Jose on Thanksgiving.
I need to get my feet back onto the pavement. It’s been far too long since I have ran, and I’m missing it pretty dearly. I see people running in this cool winter weather, making the dedication that I should be doing to the sport I so love, whole I troddle on being lazy. My goal this year is a full Marathon. The one I’m looking to do is the California International Marathon in Sacramento. It is on Dec 6 2009, so that gives me a whole year to train for it. Rather than going for a finishing time, I will be training just to complete it. No PRs to break, or other people to race. The competition for the CIM is to cross the finish line.
Stay tuned for Posts regarding my last three races, and updates to the training I’ll be doing for my full marathon.

So I broke down and bought new shoes. I’m hoping this aides in the aches in my calves and lower legs that I have been having. My previous shoes were Saucony, and my new shoes are still Saucony, only a newer version. I went and about the Saucony Progrid Triumph 5’s, old ones were the 4’s, and I guess they changed the design slightly. Something with a more rigid bottom, and something with something else, I forget. Either way, I took a short run in the Fleet Feet Chico store, and they were light, and felt good. I also took a look at the Asics Gel Nimbus 10, but didnt like the weight of those. They were good shoes, but not for me, even though I had the Numbus 9 as my first running shoes, though I got the wrong size and almost tweaked my knees bad. Additionally, I got size 11.5 shoes, which is a full size larger instead of going with .5 size at 11. I think with the heat up here recently in Chico, my feet might be swelling more than they used too, so its making some of my toes, um, weird. Meaning, one slightly black toenail (ewwww) and a some blisters. I guess we’ll see how this works out. I’ll workthe new shoes into my running program within the next week, as I have a long run coming up, and should probably not take the new shoes on a test drive with an 11+ mile trot. The following week though, we’ll see about using the 5’s for my 13+ miler.
Oh, and I love love LOVE my new street shoes. Onitsuka Tiger by Asics, Mexico 66. I’ve gotten nothing but compliments on my shoes, and they are so damn comfy. I have to thank Duy for the suggestion of buying Asics shoes, though I dont know if these type were what she was referring too. Either way, she planted the seed in my head to look at Asics, and I did, and yah, thanks.

So tonight I’m getting some extra sleep. I’ve got an 8am class, and need to do a 10 mile long run. Eeek. Wish me luck with running, and with the start of my final year at Chico. Things are going…wickedly cool.

Hi! I’m just testing the new Wordpress app on my iPhone. Looks like this might be a good way to keep up on the whole blogging thing.
Maybe.
Also, here’s the current background on my phone.
