A great new sleeping bag designed so you never have to get out of beg again. I would also suspect it’s great for those freezing cold mornings when I’m camping and the sun isn’t up yet.
I definitely want one of these! Plus I’m sure my parents could also use these when they go camping a lot, especially Bruce and his endur-biking.

So I just yesterday posted an entry telling you about the WMF vulerability with a link to the a third party patch, and today Microsoft has come out with an official windows update to the problem. So disregard all the stuff from yesterday and follow the link below to get your system patched and working properly. If you did happen to already download and use the Hotfix I linked to yesterday, you can uninstall that before updating with the Microsoft patch. You just need to go to Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel, and it will be listed under “Windows WMF vulnerability hotfix”.

Vulnerability in Graphics Rendering Engine Could Allow Remote Code Execution (912919)
Poser January 4th, 2006
Currently there is an un-fixed exploit in windows meta files that can allows certain files – such as .wmf, .jpg, .gif to name a few – to contain malicious code and be executed on your machine without permission. What this means is that if you were to view a vulnerable file type in Internet Exporer or Windows Explorer, all sorts of stuff can be installed on your computer and you get screwed with viruses, torjans, malware/spyware, and whatever else sucks to have happen to you. So thanks to Chromite for passing along the info, I want to forward you information to protect yourself.
First we have a few links talking about the WMF exploit. You’re welcome to read these articles and get an idea yourself on the severity of the situation.
Exploit Released for Unpatched Windows Flaw
Update on the Critical Unpatched Windows Flaw
New Exploit for Unpatched Windows Flaw
Unofficial Patch for Windows Flaw
Second we have a website where there is a temporary patch that you can install on your system to prevent your computer from being compromised by the exploit. The patch is safe and easy to install, and can just as easily be uninstalled when Microsoft comes out with an official patch.
Download WMF vulnerability hotfix – Choose one of the sites from the first list to download patch.

As you’re all pretty much aware of, Hurricane Katrina ripped through the New Orleans area and just pummeled it. There are tons of places you can read about the Katrina and the aftermath. Some of the stories are just heartbreaking, and the pictures and video out there are un believeable. Passed along to me was Interdictors Livejournal, the blog of one guy, among many, working in a Datacenter in New Orleans. Its amazing to read his experience with going through the hurricane, and working afterwards to keep some of the sites and internet connections still online. I’ve lnked you the beginning of the Hurricane Katrina chapter, so please read through and check out his encounter.
