Week 2 : Aug 27 – Sept 2

Sorry for the late reply for my Week In Review series. It’s been a bit more busy than I thought it would be, and so half a week late, here is a run down of what happened.
Sunday – Was another day filled with nothing to do. I just made my first entry for Week in Review, and just hung out all day. I got some laundry done for the week and relaxed, ran a few errands, and watched TV while surfing the web. I also managed to get some reading done for class, so I was a little productive.
Monday – Back to school. Went to my first class and came home to find the mail from my mom. I got the stuff I needed to get my paper work done for working at the Library here at CSU Chico. I also stopped by the GE advising office to see if I needed to make an appointment to go over my transfer stuff from West Valley. Then I came home, took a nap, and went to my night class. I didnt have much homework, but I did do more reading for school before going to bed for the day. One thing that was annoying was the pain in my leg. It was so bad Monday night that I woke up everytime I moved.
Tuesday – I got up and went to my first class, and got more instruction. Had my break in between the classes and came home for lunch, then back to my 2nd class. No much happened, just now I’m really having to start taking notes, and thinking about possibly buying a Tablet Laptop for school. Probably dont need one, but I think it would definitely be used pretty damn much.
One thing of note is that I got an answer from the Fin Aid office about my Appeal for more money. It was approved, but they have to take away the money allocated to me for Work Study. By taking the Work Study money away, that meants that I cant have the Library job. I had to weigh my options and decide whether to take the grant money Fin Aid was offering me, or go with the Library job. I finally decided to go with the grant money for one major reason: it was guaranteed money. With the grant money I was assured to get an amount no matter what, while with the Library job I only got what I worked for. The disadvantage to not working at the Library though is the loss of a social activity. Working at the Library would have forced me to interact with patrons and other workers, so that might have helped to increase the number of people I knew, and help my social life grow.
Wednesday – One class today, just my Print for Digital Media lab. After that I came home because again, nothing to do. With no job, I pretty much have all free time when I am not in class. I will start to develop some kind of workout schedule so that I can stay fit. Once my knee heals more, I plan to start heading over to the track at school and run.
Thursday – Again, just classes and relaxing. I worked a little on the website project, and got stuff packed up before going back to San Jose for the weekend. Not a whole lot really.
Friday – Got up at about 11am-ish, and packed for home. I left Chico at around 1230 and got home to San Jose about 345. I ran some errands for mom, picked up a quick snack, and then hung out at home waiting for Bahareh. Bahareh finished work and her and I hung out for the evening. It was cool, getting to see her my first night of my first weekend back.
Saturday – Got up and went to work back the SJ Library. It was good seeing all my buddies again, havent seen them in over month or so. Just did the working thing, then came home to hang out by myself. Mom and Bruce were out of town, so I had the place to myself the whole weekend. Pretty relaxing, thats for sure, but kinda lonely.
The second weekend wasnt really event filled. I just had a little more school work to do worry about, and then came home for Labor Day weekend. It was a pretty nice weekend, not much was going on. Next update might have a little bit more to it then this one. But I am starting to get more settled into being off on my own, and doing stuff for myself. Just need to start budgeting better, and seeing about making more friends.
